Historia

Konwencję zainaugurowali studenci UW Louise Behnke, szefowa SciFi Club oraz Jackie Lee, szefowa Anime Club. Obie grupy i Towarzystwo Entuzjastów Gier Madison Academics planowały konwencję do marca 2007 r. Geek.Kon odbył się po raz pierwszy w październiku 2007 r. Na Uniwersytecie Wisconsin-Madison w George L. Mosse Humanities Building jako dwudniowy bezpłatny Konwencja. Spodziewając się setek, przybyło ponad 1800 uczestników. W 2008 roku konwent rozszerzył się na jedno z górnych pięter pobliskiego Vilas Hall. W 2009 roku konwencja oddzieliła się od University of Wisconsin, stała się prywatna, przeniosła się do hotelu Madison Sheraton, wydłużyła się do trzech dni i zaczęła pobierać opłaty za wstęp. Od 2010 roku konwencja przeniosła się do hotelu Marriott Madison West w Middleton i jest tam do dziś.
