Historia

Okręg Mortagne-au-Perche został utworzony w 1800 r., rozwiązany w 1926 r. i przywrócony w 1942 r. Podczas reorganizacji okręgów Orne w styczniu 2017 r. zyskał 49 gmin z okręgu Argentan i jedną gminę z okręgu Alençon , i stracił pięć gmin na rzecz okręgu Alençon.
