Fruktozo-6-fosforan (czasami nazywany estrem Neuberga ) jest pochodną fruktozy , która została ufosforylowana w grupie 6-hydroksylowej. Jest to jeden z kilku możliwych fruktozofosforanów . Forma β- D tego związku jest bardzo powszechna w komórkach . Zdecydowana większość glukozy jest przekształcana do fruktozo-6-fosforanu po wejściu do komórki. Fruktoza jest głównie przekształcana do fruktozo-1-fosforanu przez fruktokinazę po imporcie komórkowym.

Historia

Nazwa ester Neuberg pochodzi od nazwiska niemieckiego biochemika Carla Neuberga . W 1918 roku odkrył, że związek (później zidentyfikowany jako fruktozo-6-fosforan) został wyprodukowany przez łagodną kwaśną hydrolizę fruktozo-2,6-bisfosforanu .

Fruktozo-6-fosforan leży w szlaku metabolicznym glikolizy i jest wytwarzany przez izomeryzację glukozo-6-fosforanu . To z kolei jest dalej fosforylowane do fruktozo-1,6-bisfosforanu .
